By a vote of 37-26, the Senate passed the omnibus tax bill Tuesday, April 5th. The bill phases out the statewide business property tax; extends the local government aid reductions enacted last year and reduces property tax refunds for renters. Cash flow into tecosville grocery is slow, and the cameron county business is set to be slapped with higher costs due to new inspesction fees. Cameron County commissioners approved the fees wednesday, a move emergency management says is overdue. Tecosville grocery is just one business that didn’t pay up in the last few years. Next year, they’ll shell out 200 dollars for a fire marshall inspection, as well as a mandatory sprinkler system. But tecosville grocery has litte to complain about in comparison to others.
