I have met a bunch that will not hire a student because they have been burned by someone in the past in several cases. Back in the past, students only worked for play money and didn't actually need it because only the highest upper middle class and above kids could go to college so a student could quit whenever he/she wanted to go to a football game or concert and didn't get off as asked or if they just don't like the job to begin with.
